Counterfeit Kit Challenge August member blog hop

Welcome to this month's Counterfeit Kit Challenge member blog hop!

Hopefully, you've reached me via Cindy after working your way through the all the participants. If not, you can hop back to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog (here) so that you can start right at the beginning and not miss a thing!

This month we were challenged with the following prompts:

Challenge #1:  One Layer Challenge: No paper layering allowed - just embellishments.

Challenge #2:  Sketch Challenge: Stretch this card sketch to suit you.

Challenge #3:  Vellum: Incorporate vellum into your project.

Now challenge 1 is just mean for a layering girl like me *wink*, so I've decided to incorporate two challenges in one and use the sketch from challenge #2 to make a layout using vellum √† la challenge #3 - one of my all time favourite scrappy products. Win-win.

If you look closely at my layout, the original sketch IS there! I've got the four vertical blocks as a starter. Then I've replaced the chevrons with two doily elements, dropping one. Then I've reinterpreted the horizontal strips with lace and wound twine. I'll be adding journalling to give my niece a few words of advice after her first day of school.

There were a few last minute changes To the blog hop list and therefore, I'm linking up to not one, but two blogs! First up is newcomer Binty over at her blog here and then there's the prolific Julene (here). Make sure you stop by at both their blogs and say hello. And here's the full list in case you get lost along the way.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you let me know you were here and tell me if you were braver than me and rose to the single card layer challenge!

  1. This is so great! I love that title.. and yes, I CAN see the sketch just fine!

  2. LOVE LOVE LOVE - what great pouts you two have!
That little cluster at the bottom and the colours and obviously the vellum make this a big favourite for me :)

  3. Wonderful interfpretation of the sketch and super use of vellum. Glad you gave #1 a miss! Fabulous page!

  4. Just gorgeous, as always! Love how your pages always feel so balanced. That little corner cluster is just perfect! Thanks for sharing, Lisa!

  5. Beautiful layout, such a sweet photo. Love the take on the sketch and the heart vellum.
    Cindy F.

  6. Beautiful use of the vellum and that lace looks so cool as a border :) Well done with the sketch :)

  7. I heart how you used vellum!! And all those other sweet touches are fab as well.

  8. beautiful LO. love that lace, twine and cluster border. so pretty. i have a hard time using twine, so i find this very inspiring. and TY for letting me take part in the hop. looking forward to the Sept hop :).

  9. Such clever use of the travel papers & products!
She is adorable. I continue to be schooled on using the little bits & bobs sprinkled about to dress up a page :D

  10. oooh lisa, you have rocked this sketch! Love that little flag and button!!! How cool! I'm yet to have a go at this...

  11. What a stunning hop it has been. So many new ideas and unique approaches. In your case, the pp supports the title and tells the story. And the light turquoise, is my favorite colour. sigh.

Other than doing a digital layout, the single layer challeng is not going to happen for me. Much prefer a product challenge.

  12. Sorry I'm so late getting around this hop!
    A beautiful layout, lovely colours

I love comments! Thanks for taking the time. <3 <3 <3
