Scrapabilly March Kit des Monats shares (part 2)

A reminder for you about the gorgeous Scrapabilly March Kit des Monats featuring Simple Stories "You Are Here" and "We Are Family".

As you know, I am a little obsessed with map and globe papers so there was no way I was going to be cutting up that gorgeous blue map paper included. Decorating along the two edges was the best way to preserve the middle of the map. It was particularly relevant too as this map shows the North Pole and the northern part of Canada so the starting point of our Yukon adventure seemed the idea subject matter.

And of course, the main theme of the kit papers was definitely hot, tropical beaches so a layout about the Philippines seemed suitable. I decided to fussy cut some flowers and leaves from the large floral print and scatter them across the page.

Varying the dimension of the fussy cut elements using foam dots gives texture and interest to the page and is the main reason this activity is something I love to make the time to do. And it takes you far less time than you think.

Another great kit and another great month of layouts.

You can find the full Design Team work over at the Scrapabilly gallery here - make sure you check out all three teams because there's a lot of gorgeous stuff out there.

  1. Those title letters really convey the excitement of the trip on your first page and I like how you used an "L" shaped design to keep most of the map paper clear.
Love the fussy-cut flowers on the second layout. You're right - it doesn't take as long as you would expect and I find it strangely relaxing. Another fun page!
