CASEing out my fellow Belles

The Jingle Belles prompt this week is to CASE previous Jingle Belles' cards. Yes, I had to scratch my head and wonder what the card-making insider acronym CASE meant. Luckily they spelt it out for me in the blog post - Copy and Selectively Edit. I was relieved I didn't need to start my own detective agency just to make a card or two :-)

Over the last months, I've been pinning the odd card or two that's caught my eye and knew that I would find something inspirational over there to use. The biggest problem was, which one?

In the end, I decided that this card (from week #29) from Amanda at Craft Paper Girl was the one for me.

I loved the double matting, the ribbon and the cluster. I had also had Jovial envy but not having any in my stash and as ever, determined to use my scraps, I improvised with what I did have. To "selectively edit", I decided to make a landscape card and to make my leaves from paper.

I think I still like the original best but another card ready to go...

  3. oooooooooooooooh! i ♥LOVED♥ that card of amanda's, too, and i adore what you've done with it! i think my favorite part of the "CASE" experiment is seeing *HOW* each belle will interpret the card they choose... and i love the way you've been 100% faithful to the original while using STUFF YOU HAVE! brilliant & clever! ♥

ps: totally agree about CHOOSING being the hardest part! i think next year i could just go thru the JB archives and CASE one card a week...i'd never be short of ideas!!! :)

  8. Great card! Love the original, but yours is stunning, too! Copying cards appears to be just as hard as copying someone's signature, which is a good thing, because it means that all our cards will prove to be "originals" after all. Hope you like what I did with your JB #15 entry. ;-)
