School days

You might have guessed that I'm a little bit addicted to Pinterest. It's true. I love it. Adore it. Can't do without it. It's taking over! *wink wink*

921 pins and counting.

Well. it's all very well pinning and pinning, you also have to do something with all that inspiration. So I did.

The LOAD prompt for School Days made me think of my very last day at school when I dropped out shortly before our final A level exams. I love this photo and will always be grateful to whoever took it for us and for whoever sent it to me a few months later when I was already in France. It sums up so much and takes me right back.

I wanted to use this pin {here} which I fell in love with right away and adjusted it for my smaller photo and embellies.

Then I realised that there wasn't really enough space for all the journalling I wanted to include and for the first time, I made a 6x12 extra page just for that. Nothing ground breaking as I know that many out there are doing exactly this, but new for me. It worked so well apart from the fact that I didn't have any more cream cardstock and had to make do with coordinating paper. But with the second banner, I tried to tie it in a bit better.

February Counterfeit Kit Challenge Record kit, layout #2

Another layout that just makes me happy and brings back bittersweet memories. I try not to regret any decisions I've made but sometimes, just sometimes, I wonder if I should have stayed at school. But then the chain of events that was triggered on this day and leads up to where I am today would be different and I wouldn't be the person I am right now. And that would be sad...

My February Counterfeit kit, Record, is proving great with its combination of colours, patterns and journalling opportunities. I do need to print out some more journalling cards at some point but so far, loving the mix.

  1. Great page - and I love the idea of an extra half page for the journalling rather than stick a hidden tag somewhere - especially when you have made it coordinate so well. I'm liking this sort of big PP banner - somehow festive and yet very definitely part of the page!

  2. I love the idea of the extra page for journaling. You get the best of both worlds that way - playing with lots of paper and telling the story (and what an interesting story it is)

  3. Looking at this at work, so I can't put my face right up to the screen to read, and I can't quite make people out - apart from Jean, Geraldine, Lisa, Vanessa and you, of course. I'll be back later...

In today's words OMG!!! back so soon, because my verification word is franc...
