LOAD may be over but Jingle Belles is still rocking

One thing I've definitely learnt from my latest foray into making a layout every day in February (LOAD) is that I don't appear to be able to multi-task as far as blogging and scrapping goes! And as for making cards... well, I managed two but last week, this time was just not there. (Can anyone tell me where it went?)

LOAD pretty much takes over when it's going on and I think that even though we all miss it when March 1st comes around, we are all also a little bit relieved and happy to be able to concentrate on some other things - yeah, such as making Christmas cards in March ;-)

I'm going to do a LOAD round up tomorrow or maybe Friday but for now, I wanted to upload my cards.

Jingle Belles Challenge Week #8 was a gorgeous sketch courtesy of Diana over at Sketchy Thursdays. I really wanted to have a go at it because it was so pretty, but my effort seems to have missed the mark a bit! I think I had the idea in my mind and the sketch rather got lost in translation! Maybe I will have another go at it another time as I am in love with many of the cards made by other Belles and really think I could do better.

Challenge Week #9 is "Text Me"

I was surprised to find that I only had this one piece of paper in my Christmas stash with any kind of text on it, so the choice of paper was relatively easy. I have been doing a lot of cutting over the last month so I did a bit of that too and kept it simple.

These reindeers are outlined in a gorgeous glitter/sparkle edge which I don't think you can really see in the photo, but overall I am quite happy with this one.

I've still got a long way to go until I can come even close to the wonderful creations that Deb makes but my little pile is getting bigger and bigger, and I am loving seeing Christmas papers and stash being slowly but surely used up.

Spring may be just around the corner, but yesterday evening Christmas was calling in my room!

(Apologies for the awful blue toned photos but the light was awful this afternoon - need to improve this side of blogging somehow.)

  1. woohoo, it's a JINGLY double header--and what a ♥FABULOUS♥ pair of cards they are!

i love your sketch card...i agree it is a *LOOSE* version...but it's very pretty and i think it works! (plus of course the recipients will have NO IDEA there was a sketch anyway!) ;)

as for "text me" ...well now THERE is a masterpiece of holiday goodness! LOVE the scallop-matted half-circle of text paper, and those reindeer ROCK in a big way!

ps: i am SOOOOOOOOO impressed you can do a LO every day for a whole month at a time! that just seems UNBELIEVABLE to me...especially having seen your LO's...every single one is gorgeous! ♥♥♥

  6. I absolutely love how the bits of text peek through behind those wonderful reindeer ... I always like a card that manages to feature Fa la la la la in the design ... makes me smile ... so glad you joined our jingle belle journey.
